GEORGE! www.ckctraining.com/ This is just a post on what to look out for and ask questions before hiring a dog trainer or behaviorist. I am not on my soapbox or bragging. Just helping you to choose the right trainer and what questions should be asked before leaving your dog with a stranger. This is why I can't retire because of dog behaviorists pretending to be dog trainers and hacks that electrocute dogs, which, to me, is dog abuse! (see photos from their own website that I posted) I am proud to have never once used a shock collar. It is the old caveman training methods that put a dog into fear without a mutual respect between dog and human. This is crap training from the 80/90's that we do not use anymore as we have evolved over time with better methods of training. I have been a military K-9 handler since 1993. I am a certified master trainer, business dog training owner and founder of Loyal K-9 after being a civilian K9 contractor and Instructor in Afghanistan and Iraq. During my service, I was also deployed to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. I later trained and instructed hundreds of K-9 police dogs in California for years. About 27 Law enforcement offices, US Treasury K-9, Amtrak K-9, K-9 search and rescue cadaver dogs, etc. For over 10 years, I trained 70-80 dogs a year at my training facility from 2010-2021. I came to Utah to retire, but these so-called hack dog trainers try to claim the fame. Most of them are online courses certified and have not trained a dog to get an online certificate, and most online courses are for Dog behaviorist like Cesar Milan, "Dog Whisperer". Then they go out into our cities with a piece of paper and pretend to be dog trainers. This is just a scam, and they are charging up to and over $5,000 for Petco-type training. Since 2010, I have never charged more than $1,500. I found this on another St. George word-of-mouth FB page. This post was about a bunch of dogs left in a car, no open windows, no owner around, and turns out the car and dogs belong to a dog training company named CKC Training of Cedar City and St. George. So if I were the owner of one of these dogs, then I would like to know why my dog was left with other dogs with the potential of a dog fight in a non-circulated vehicle for how long, and where was the person responsible for them at CKC that I put my trust into caring for my dog? The dogs are obviously panting their brains out. The facts are this: when leaving a dog in a car. In this case, more than one dog. More body heat, right! So the weather today was high 56F. The weather is expected to 73F by next week. With that said, a car "WITH ONE DOG" can increase 1 degree per minute in the first 30 minutes, and in one hour the heat is now 43 degrees hotter and in 90 minutes a car can heat up to 48 degrees. So that tells me with multiple dogs, this car was now heating up to a minimum of 104F. No wonder their tongues are so far out in these photos. This was just found today. Was CKC doing this all along in the Summers as well? So, I dug in and found the following BS about this company. Started with a business license. Nope, could not find anything on Utah.gov. website for a license. next I researched the trainers and owners. WOW! They are just kids/teenagers. Owner- Chantel Clark- No previous dog training, no credentials for any dog training or online dog training courses. Nothing about her dog training experience is on her LinkedIn or her website for CKC. She shows no experience, credentials, or certifications as a dog trainer. Her past dog training only started three years ago, out of the blue? So, where are her credentials for dog training? She went to college for business marketing. Her skill is professional communication, which in her own post, slams the school in a negative way (See photo). Chantel is from Canada and has no prior jobs or experience-related training listed. Next, we have Dani Russell. She claims to be a professional dog trainer since 12/24. She is 20 years old. So she has been a professional dog trainer since 18 years old? I call BS! But if so, cool. As a customer, show me her certificates, license, and K9 courses she achieved because their website does not show anything about how they became a business owner of a professional dog trainer in there Bio. She was actually a customer to CKC with her dog "Fern" . Her resume says she is a professional dog trainer after only 2 years. Part-time dog training with shock collars does not make you a professional by learning only one method of dog training. Again, nothing in her Bio proves she is a professional dog trainer on the website. She is a student at SUU and studying to be in aviation. So her future plans as a dog trainer are temporary? Where is the dedication of being a dog trainer? This is just a fill-in part-time job to pay her bills until she becomes a aviation pilot or soon to be maried husbands income. She is just paying the bills with this job; it is not a career. If I were her dog "Fern" I would have no choice but to comply because I am being shocked with a taser. Bad dog training methods with shock collars are cruel to animals. Did you know that a shock collar can produce anywhere from 100V to 6,000V? Have you ever licked a 12v battery? That's just 12V not 100V? Imagine what your dog is getting at 100V-6000V. Not to mention the stress, fear and diarrhea that comes with it. The next employee is Emily Hardman. She joined the company after being a customer in November 2025. That's 3 months ago. Again, she is not going to be a future dog trainer or serious about the company, as this is just another fill-in job to pay the bills until something better comes along. in the meantime, she posted on her resume that she is a coach for girls Lacrosse and when she is not doing that, she is just hanging out with her husband, friends, and travelling. SOOO at the end of the day, 3 girls in their teens and twenties, with no proof of past training professionally, no class or courses according to their website or LinkedIn accounts. Now this video and photos show up today about these dogs locked in a car with no proper ventilation, and car heat is getting higher. If that was my dog, I would be pist off and warning others on Google business reviews or Yelp reviews. This is not a professional company if they leave your dog in a car unattended. Also, CKC photos show dogs being trained in a Home Depot. Home Depot's policy is restricted to service dogs only. If my service dog were in Home Depot and CKC is taking a non-service dog into HD against store policy for training and CKC dog attacks my dog, can you imagine the lawsuits for both CKC and HD? Let alone any vet bills for my service dog and court lawsuits? CKC is reckless by the video and photos of a dogs left in a car unattended (Thank god it was not Summer) Or do they practice this behavior in the Summer time as well? Don't know, they have never been caught other than in this situation. This company is also risking my service dog from being attacked in HD, no license, no insurance, no history of professional dog training, no K-9 first aid training, etc etc etc. this is again just to point out while hiring a professional dog trainer to do your homework and research or your dog can land up dead or soon to be dead dog locked up in a vehicle unattended. Very unprofessional and reckless of CKC. I challenge and welcome CKC to prove to me that I am wrong, and I will delete and apologize publicly. CKC, if you want my help to be successful, I am more than happy to help by passing on my expertise and professional training methods without shocking the crap out of a customer's dog at 11,000V's or leaving them in a car to die.

<div style="height: 20px; We want you to ask us all the questions since you are putting your trust in somebody that will be handling your dog.

Employees are not trained on how to properly use E-collars or prong collars. They left E-collar marks on my parent's dog's neck. Not only the contact points of the E-collar left a mark but the whole collar strap left marks on his neck too. Which shows me they put the collar on way too tight. his fur grew back white and he’s a black dog so it’s very noticeable. My parent's dog is now traumatized because of the misuse of the E-collar. I also witnessed an employee (who said they were the “head trainer” at dog training elite) stimming a nervous dog with the E-collar repeatedly because it was wandering around a new environment. the dog was visibly stressed out and shut down. The dog was also wearing a prong collar and it wasn’t properly fit. I felt sorry for that dog. dog training elite will hire anyone. dog experience or not. they also can’t even explain to you why and how they use the prong collar or E-collar. I called them to ask them questions, I asked if they could explain how they use the E-collar and the girl that was on the phone seemed so taken aback and just said “We just use it.” Good dog trainers would be able to answer all your questions and tell you why and how they use training tools. BEWARE of dog training elite. I would not trust this dog training franchise with anyone's dogs. St. George has amazing dog trainers, unfortunately, these guys are not one of them.

March 07th, 2023

https://www.loyalk-9.com/blog/march-07th-2023

https://www.loyalk-9.com/blog/march-07th-2023#comments

Uncategorized

      [...]

Support animals are a scam!

https://www.loyalk-9.com/blog/support-animals-are-a-scam

https://www.loyalk-9.com/blog/support-animals-are-a-scam#comments

Uncategorized

Another scam for you all! Here is a quote from their own website... Check this BS out! Quote from their website...
"WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SERVICE ANIMAL AND AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL (ESA)?
Service animals are trained to perform specific tasks and are essentially allowed to go anywhere their handlers go. Emotional support animals are not specifically trained for anything. ESA qualifications are based on the owner needing the animal for comfort. Since the animal isn’t trained for specific tasks, they can still be turned away from public places (ie restaurants, shopping centers, hotels, etc). However, once people find out that your animal is an Emotional Support Animal, they are much more likely to allow your pet to stay." 1000000% BULL SHIT! They even advertise they are a member of the BBB. Well, if you search the company's name they are not found AND if you click on their website for the BBB, it goes nowhere. Then they claim it was $200+ bucks but running a special for $79 for a doctor to sign off on this. The doctor and website are in the UK if they are even real doctors!!!!
